Hi guys i am new to these forums and i just recently aquired a 92 Eclipse Gs last week.

I bought this car thinking of a gas saver before anything and now i am a little more interested in performance that still saves over my 97 yukon ( 5.7L). Thus when i bought it i didnt really care about engine size, i only knew i wanted a DSM and i wanted a manual tranny.

So here i am sitting with this new car and i am looking to actually pop a crate motor in it as the SOHC 1.8L i have in it now smokes occasionally, burns a quart of oil a month, is non-turbo, and the valves are worn slap out.

My question is can you recommend some companies you have dealt with in the past that have decent stock crate motors preferably 2.0L and turbo?

Also are there any things i should be cautious of when making the change over, and will i need to do anything extra like fuelpump changes / tranny / radiator / etc. to make this work for me?

I'm not looking to be a drag car fully but more of a street legal demon that i can be proud of.

Not sure if this is all the information you will need to help me but i will watch this post daily to answer any questions that may further help you help me.

Thanks in advance

well, I am picking up my motor from a company that imports them over. The motor is used 45k miles and they will test each motor and it must pass before they import it. I am buying a NT 2.0 for 700$ shipped and 1700$ shipped for the turbo motor.

If you want a rebuilt one, you can check out overbore.com. I have spoke to the owner... cool guy and will hook you up.
