Looking for just a little extra info on the rs60t and tuner opinions.

Ok, now ive done the research and im just wondering my fellow tuners opinions. Im looking to get a rs60t. I know i dont have datalogging, but i have easy access to it so thats not a problem. my current mod list is..

FFWD Stage-2 6 bolt, ported big 16g, Apexi Intake, ACT 2600, Free Mods, Apexi TT, Hallman MBC @20 psi, Dejon Tool UICP w/ TurboXS Type H-RFL Bov, 1g TB, Rewired Walbro 190 fp, S-AFC II, ExtremePSI 580's, ShepRacing Tranny, ARP Hardware, HK$ 272's, Ported 1g Head, Fidenza Adjustable cam gears, balance shafts removed, ACT Streetlight flywheel, forward facing oilfilter and bracket, Supra MKIV Sidemount, ATP Boost Cut-Out,

currently im running about a 12.3 to 12.1 and am looking for a new boost experience. i believe i prolly have the required supporting mods for this turbo, but is there anything im overlooking. so the turbos use the same kind of feed and return lines as my 16g does? also do you all think 580s can handle it. i would be wanting to run about 22-24 psi. please give inputs on what i may still need to consider. im looking to run about a 11.3 when im all done, do you all think this turbo could do that? thanks all everyone!

No where near enough injector for pump gas, not sure of the limits on something like C16. You're actually going to run out of fuel pump as well. Something like a 255HP or Supra TT would suit you better.

No, you will need new oil lines. AGP sells a kit if you're not a DIY kind of person.

Also, with the (much) larger injectors needed to run something like this, you may want to look into DSMLink or an EPROM chip with injector compensation so you won't run into problems by only using an SAFC and trying to compensate for all the extra fuel.

Edit : The Supra SMIC will also not handle that airflow. Look into a good FMIC.

what about the rs49t then? is that probably more suited to my setup? i really wanna go bigger, but dont wanna over tax my budget being the poor college kid i am

You could run a 50trim at maybe 60-70% of its pump gas potential with your setup. Frankly to support a 20g or larger for max effort on pump gas youll need more fuel, a way to tune it, and a better intercooler. Your car will be a pain in the ass and more than likely slower if you throw a 50trim or a 60-1 on your existing setup.

If it was me Id stay with my 16g until I had enough for the injectors, fuel pump, intercooler. The AFC will WORK but it wont work well with the size injectors you need to make power comfortably with turbos that size. Id get DSMLink or a custom chip youll be happy you did.

ya the more research i did the more i came to this conclusion too. so im going to start selling all my audio and stuff, (hell im too old for subs anyways) and all my extra parts laying around. so i can get dsmlink and some 660's maybe 720's then consider upgrading. either way i think i can tune my b16g to ~11.5 so that may be enough. i was doing all this for a race with my new rival. thanks tuners for all your help and advice. and i'll try to help you all out when i can!

werd.. i havnt seen a 16g dsm running those times around here for a very long time.. hell i havnt even seen many dsms at all down that low lately.
