1G Looking for five speed manual trans.

Where is a trusted and reliable place to get remanufactured 5-speed manuals that will drop into my 92 eclipse GS that came with the 4-speed Auto. It's a 2.0 L non-turbo by the way.

Midwest Mopar remanufactured and sold them for years. I've ordered many hard to find parts from them. At some point they renamed to Midwest Transmissions. I'm not sure if they still remanufacture them since I don't see any on their website now and demand is low, but a couple years ago they were going for the hefty price of $2,300. You can give them a call and see if they still have any in stock. Worst case you could get a used transmission and fully rebuild it with parts from them and Transmission Parts Distributors to make a nice unit.

I'm not sure where you're located but I have a spare rebuilt transmission in central Alabama. I'm not necessarily interested in shipping it though.

Not anything that I’m aware of, especially in regards to DSMs. Manual transmissions that mate with the 4G block go:

F5M22 for the FWD N/T (4G37 or 4G63)
F5M33 for the 2.0L FWD Turbo
F5M31 for the 2.4L
W5M33 for the AWD

There’s F4M21, F5M21 and W5M31 codes out there that could potentially bolt up but were not originally equipped in any DSM.

There was the F4A23, the automatic transmission that came in 2G non-turbo Spyders. Maybe that is what you’re remembering?
