It was mentioned before that people would like to make a DSM "club" for Iowa residents. I would like to know who all would be interested in it? To me the only difference would be that these meets would be regularly scheduled and we would have a group name.

I attempted it before finding this website, but only had two people plus myself willing to do it. I had a set name for the group, a few people, and a PO Box, but with only a few people interested it went no where. Anyone want to give my group a shot?

I would be game. I have to agree with you, though. it is very hard to get people to commit to something like this. plus most dsmers in this area are very flaky. they buy a dsm and "bench race" it for a few months and sell it. 4g63t is about the only other guy around here that has stuck with his dsm.

If you want to do this or need some help, i am in!

I'm down. I haven't made any engine mods on my car yet, but they will come eventually. I've had my car for over 2 years now and no plans to sell it any time soon, I actually want to buy another one, AWD hopefully.

We will cruise out to Gray's Lake from the parking garage and eventually end up back downtown to cruise.

So how is the DSM seen up in Ames?

well here in Ames ive really only seen maybe 3 decent dsms. I saw a white 2g with black wheels and a cf hood the other day and never seen it before. Now ive seen 4 other gsxs and its all people who just bought them because they wanted a "fast" car. Not really know much about them. But there are several dsms in town. 3 evos that are all done up. I'm kinda jealous. Ive seen more professionally done subarus here than i ever have . I saw 5 stis just last week, all in one day!

And I'm down for starting a club and regular meets. Des moines holds a monthly subaru meet and I would like to start that as well. Now about the club name. If we decide to make stickers or something, we can't just give them out to anybody. Know what I'm saying?

AND it's for sure that no one who doesn't deserve to be in the group will be in, or in that case get a sticker either. We don't want dumb asses running around with our group name on their crap car.

By the way, I saw a black eclipse today at a Kum n Go on SW 9th and Watrous today...was that anyone here? And yesterday mekal and I saw a white TSi with the roof painted white also like the eclipses. The "i" was shaved off of the rear bumper where the TSi lettering is and it had some rims. We saw it in the Home Depot parking lot on SE 14th St. We tried approaching him about the meet, but he left before we got over to him.

I saw a black ESI 97-99 model on E.14th and Euclid, revved my engine at him and he didn't even look so I'm not thinking he tunes. I might not be able to make every meet or what not. I got family at home I need to be with, but I will certainly try my best to be there as much as possible. I try to stay true to the DSM.

when I went to the track friday I was getting a baseline before I really mod the car and a guy driving a 5 slow was making fun of me when we raced the first race. I lost the race to the line with a slipping clutch but ran 5 mph faster and had better 60' and 1/4 times my 1/4 mile was almost .250 faster and he had cam, headers, intake done to his car. I just laughed at him and said if i was paying attention at the light I would of beat you with a slipping clutch and half the motor. then I asked if he wanted to run for money and he shut up and left me alone.

So if we show up at the garage at 7pm what time would you guys want to plan on cruising out to Grey's Lake? I think it'd be good to have a set time to cruise so that people can come later if they have to and know when we'll leave and be at Grey's Lake.
