I am looking at stripping some parts from a 95 talon tsi for my turbo conversion on my 1990 laser rs 2.0N/T. The guy I'm looking at getting the parts from had the pistons pretty much crack straight down the middle and the top and bottom parts of the block are separated. Questions are, what should I look for/be worried about with the turbo mani, smic and plumbing, the turbo itself and the injectors? Things I should be looking for or should I just bypass this all together and get new parts? Guy only wants $300 for all the parts I can pull of the motor, including the 2G wheels. Any help would be appreciated. The turbo seems to have zero shaft play side to side and minimal in and out if that helps. Both cars are a M/T as well. The turbo is a 16g I believe, least that is what he said. I can post pics sometime tomorrow or day after to aid.

You really don't want to use much from that car other than the ex manifold injectors, and o2 housing. The intake manifold has different size ports and won't work well. Your 1g non turbo intake will work fine. The t 25 turbo is a turd, i wouldn't even bother with it. The intercooler and piping won't bolt on either. You should be able to piece together all the 1g turbo parts for a little more than 300.
