Does this log make sence......17psi, 50trim.....my o2's are high which suggest im rich, even when timing is being pulled. I thought that when timing is being pulled, that means you are running lean at that RPM and need to add fuel. Also, if my o2's suggest i am running rich, why am i seeing my EGT's push 1600+ fahrenheit towards the end of my run??

High EGT's mean alot of knock typically. You can't rely on 02's, even if they say .98V. For comparison, I've seen .98 to .96 on O2's and the same 11.1 to 11.2 on the wideband...granted 11.2 is still abit rich, but not what one would associate really rich 02 values with. What kind of fuel device are you using? AFC? Also, i'm assuming you also have an upgraded pump & injectors...if not, you need to turn the boost down imo.

im using an AFC.....its zeroed out right now.....just logging some base runs.....i am running stock fuel system for now.....ive got everything, just am having it installed when i get it dyno tuned for 28psi.....in the mean time im running 100 octane from GAS CITY. So what u think, i am pulling timing because i am running lean?? I know on a 2g you want to shoot for 15 timing

Max timing advance for a stock 2g ecu is 16...with an afc, you can get alot more timing than that...depending on how much boost you run, typically 21 to 22 is nice timing for an afc running moderate boost levels. If your running racegas, it could be rich knock, but its really hard to say since we don't know how hard your injectors are working :( I would just wait to get the rest of your fuel mods installed to be safe if it was me...no point in really tuning it now when your gonig to change everything up shortlyl

i was just logging some runs, im getting it dyno tuned next week. Am i right though, if i am showing 8, 9, 11 degrees of timing advance, does that mean im lean in that area??.......also, 3rd gear run, i hit fuel cut around 5k or so. Only in 3rd though

To be honest with you, now that I look at the log closer, I don't think your knocking except at 7k for a brief instand since you have the afc zero'd out. Like I said, 16 is the max you'll get...granted once you put in the larger injectors and start to use the afc, you'll get more timing :thumb:

how am i knocking at 7k....ive got 15 degress timing.....i thought i was knocking between 3k and 5k, cuz my timing is so low???

If you look at your log, you'll see 16 degr of timing then it dips to 15 and then goes back up to 16. STock timing maps give you 16 degrees of timing from 6500 plus rpms. If you have the afc zero'd out, your not really lying to the ecu about airflow and thats all the timing your going to get (stock). I don't see anyone else chiming in here, but i'm fairly certain you won't get any more timing with a turbo of your size..it might be possible if it was a smaller turbo.

I have an EVO III 16G, 450 Stock injectors, Walbro 190 and SAFC II and the timing I see on my 2G is 19 degrees. I have my settings Zeroed out from 5400-7200 and before that I have -1. The fuel Octane I was using for this log was 91 Octane. Though I don't rely on O2 voltage except to insure I'm not running out of fuel (Lean) I see 1.0V. Like stated O2 voltage is not important to really concentrate on. If you see lower than .92V than I would worry because obviously you are too lean. I'd rather be a little rich for safety. For the log that showed a max of 19 degrees of timing at the top of 3rd gear (6700-7000 rpms) I was boosting 14.5 to 15 psi. (Airflow close to 28 lbs/min on the logger) My air temps were 81F and the coolant temps were 199F in case you was wondering. I want to further tune it to lean it out some but I need more time. (I have been so busy lately)

thanks for the help guys.....i cant wait to see what the pros can do on the dyno.....
