So a while back when the water pump went out on my car I had to leave it at school, so I put all my valubles I couldnt take with or didnt need in the glove box and locked it. Well go to unlock it and it doesnt unlock. Anybody know how to get in there with out breaking anything. It locked fine no problems, but went to unlock and it dont do nothing. Please help, it sucks trying to explain to the cop where my registration and insurance is and why it won't open. Thanks guys

Yes, I only have one key though and I tried it a billion times jiggling it. I would love for a locksmith to do it in 60 seconds, but at the price of 25 dollars is outrageous, I think.. Is there a way to unbolt the hinges on the back and maybe get to the lock from the inside? :S

$25! psh, I know ppl have to pay the bills, but anything over like $8 is a rip for such little effort.

I'm trying to think back to when I pulled the dash in my first Laser. I'm almost 100% certain that there were like four or more screws holding the dash in, so that's probably a no-go.

You could drill out the lock, effectively destroying it.

Hmm would the latch itself still be functional? Maybe I'll call around for better prices from some places too. I just need some stuff out of there.

Its only $25.....

Im not seeing why you wouldnt just pay it and be done with it. By the time you try all of these other methods, you will spend well over $25.

You could go get a copy of the key if yours is a little worn and maybe that will work.
Might be a couple dollars or so.

That's a possibility, I need a extra anyway...maybe I'll try that then if not I guess I could jut pay a lock smith, ya 25 ain't much, but I was looking fir a free way to get in to avoid having to spend an unneeded money when I could maybe pop a couple bolts off and drop it or something.

Spray some WD-40 in the lock cyl. Maybe it locked up (no pin intended).

Also if you make a copy of a worn key, the new key will be just as worn. The new key will only be as good as the one you use to make the copy.

Keep jiggling it. This has happened to me a few time with my worn down copy. I've always been able to get back in by persistence with the key. My plan is to get a brand new key made from the dealership off the VIN but it's a lot more then $25 bucks.
