locked in gear

Ok check it out...i just got my talon out today with brand new 6 bolt block and 2g head....as im driving it home i start to notice the clutch didnt feel right,had all 5 working gears plus reverse,as i came off the exit ..i lost 2nd gear so i went to 3rd then it just stayed in 3rd gear but the shifter would still move, so i take a look undre the hoood and the entire slave clutch cylinder fell apart,no pin or spring.......i justy bought a new slave but does that make sense why it locked up in gears and wouldnt shift?


so i guess my question is will the new slave fix this problem or could it be something else

Yea, that's definitely your problem. If there's no slave cylinder hooked up then you don't have a functioning clutch. Get a new slave cylinder and that will fix your clutch. The slave cylinder pushes on the clutch fork, which pushes against the throwout bearing. The throwout bearing pushes into the pressure plate which engages/disengages the clutch. No slave cylinder. no clutch.

Its kinda weird that the slave cylinder would come apart like that. Was it still bolted up when it came apart?

well the slave was missing the spring and the rod...we used a bolt to hold it temporarily,but yeah it fell apart quick...im replacing it today with another new one
