I have a 98 GS (automatic) and took it to the Mitsu dealer. The TCM is bad, and they want 600$ to fix it. I told them to order me the part, which is about 370$. I am going to put it on myself, hopefully, with all of your help everyone!
Couple Questions:

Where exactly is the TCM located on a 98 Eclipse?

What all needs done?

Do I just switch them out or is there cutting and re-wiring needed?

Please Help!

I don't think he means the ECM (engine control module - aka ECU) in which case that company won't fix it. My 99 Mitsu manual doesn't show any "TCM". For the N/T auto there is a EATX-ECM (automatic transaxle control module which is probably the one he means) on the floor center console to the right of the gas pedal and a PCM (Powertrain control module) in engine compartment next to the air filter. Both have to do with the auto transaxle and can be just swapped out by unplugging.

Thats just the name of the company they repair tcu as wel. Not sure for this particular model but they offer a free check anyways. My ECU was done at dsmchips.com and for the wifes A/T I had the board repaired at ecmtogo.com Works good now!
