i have a lm-1 wideband and finally got it hooked up to the laptop. i was wondering what all parts and what is required to get rpm readings as i collect afr. i also have a pda m100 which im running pocketlogger. Could i send everything to the pocketlogger or do i need to get the rpm cable for the wbo2. please be specific when answering about installation/parts/or best method. THANKS!

You can either get the rpm converter with the lm-1 and log A/F and RPM with the LM-1 (You may also want to get the inductive clamp)

or

You can use the analog out on the lm-1 and run a 0-5v to the egr temp line on the ecu.
Use mmcd and log a custom sensor at address 0x12, which will give you a number between 0 and 255.
Take that number and .05772x+7.4= A/F

if i go with the rpm converter, is it just a cord that i tap into the ecu and then run to the lm-1. what is the inductive clamp? i have no experience with this portion, sorry.

Yes for the converter you would need to tap the rpm wire, just like a afc.

If you get the inductive clamp, you run it into you engine bay and clamp it on either one of the wires for the ignitor, or a sparkplug wire.
The clamp has magnets in it and it picks up the signal as it passes through. Ever use a timing light? Same thing.

so i would either use the rpm converter OR the inductive clamp? if this is true, i will go with the rpm converter. for this i would buy the cable and then run another cable out of the box attached at the end of the converter to my ecu right?

You need the rpm converter at the least, the inductive pickup plugs into the converter.
The thing about getting the inductive pickup is that it would be easy to move the lm-1 from vehical to vehical, other then that its not needed.
