Lifter Question

I was just pulling out my lifters to clean them out. For A couple of them a cam lobe was in the way keeping me from being able to lift them out. Is it ok to just use a ratchet attached to the bolt holding the cam in and turn it clockwise to move the cam?

And also paint thinner is ok to clean the lifters out with I would assume?

As long as your are tuning it to the right then you are ok to turn the cams by the bolt. And to clean them I would just stick with brake clean.

Ya I am gonna pick up some brake cleaner tomorrow morning. I cant see soaking them in paint thinner overnight hurting them though. Its a pretty good solvent and I don't have any gas sitting aroud
