I am putting my motor together after a rebuild. I forgot all about my lifters. Some of them move freely and some dont move at all.

Which ones are doing what they are soposed to?

You are supposed to be able to compress them a good amount. Get a paper clip and shove one end down the hole on the top of the lifter. Make sure the two holes on the side of the lifter line up proporly, you can see one outside, then if you turn it you will line one up on the inside as well, they don't line up perfectly, but just so you can see both. Keep pushing the paper clip untill you hit a check valve inside the lifter, then push down and it should compress and oil will shoot out the side hole. When your done that, try and get the two holes you lined up on the side to be 180 degrees apart from each other. Your done.
