hey guys so i searched and found a cpl thing but it doesnt help me in my situation. I need to pull my motor out of my car but I need to leave the tranny in. The motor is completlely stripped down so its just my block sitting in there right now. Now I tried but I cant really find good places to hook my chains up to. Can someone please tell me where I can safely do this. thanks in advance
mike

Put a couple head bolts back in on the corners of the block and put the bolts through the chain.

I still don't know if having the engine stripped down to the block is going to give you enough clearance to get the motor out without pulling the trans. With an automatic I know its possible, never seen it done or attempted it myself with a manual.

There should be a lift bracket somewhere next to the alternator. I believe there's another behind the intake manifold. If anything you can wrap two chains around the block and lift them them that way. Just put heavy cardboard around the corners.

alright well it went very well. i used the head bolts on each corner of the motor to pull it out. i had to take off the water pump pulley and the oil filter housing to get it to clear with the tranny still in but it came out pretty easy and fast. thanks guys!!
