Let's see those Carbon Fiber Hoods

I really wanna get a Carbon Fiber hood for my car not just for looks but for cooling.

I really like the VIS G speed one but maybe you guys can help me decide better.

Just shoot up some pics of your 2G with CF hoods, sorry 1g guys/.

I've seen the VIS G speed hood on a white 2G in person and it looks amazing, but it is very open to the elements.(Rain being a big one)

That's one of my favorite designs. Looks kinda ricey in pics but in person is amazing. The shields from the evo seem about the same size but I'd say measure their dimensions and get the dimensions of the hood from VIS and find out for sure if you can use it or not. I think you'll probably be ok even if they won't work though.

i just think the top pic will be good to keep the water out and the bottom one makes the hood look better. Without the bottom one it makes it look like someone at home just cut that big center vent out....this would give it like a border

Yeah I always thought the same thing with the bottom one too. I know if I get that hood, I'll be doing some sort of insert such as the evo one, to clean it up a bit. And if you get water problems or anything, you may be able to custom fit something underneath that can channel the water along the bottom side of the hood and out the side somewhere or something like that. Just a thought when I was pondering the weather issue .

Should work pretty well. Just depends on where water and everything would be dripping. If it comes in those side vents and drips by the fuse box and stuff like that was what I was thinking of mainly when I thought about the whole routing system under the hood. And where did you get that intake cover, I can't find it anywhere on their site .

they discontinued it awhile ago.

I found the same thing but in chrome on ebay a few months back....it was the guys last one, but I'm sure they are still around.

anyways I also have a fusebox cover

so now i just need to find out if both those evo parts will fit the g speed hood.

I'm currently running the cf g-speed hood. And let me tell you it's awesome. The hood already comes with some liner under all the cutouts. So no water gets In. I wash my car religiously every week and I get no drips in the engine bay. I currently have the liner on the intake side removed so my k&n fipk can breath a little better, plus it looks sick being able to see the filter through the hood. I'm actually converting everything back to stock. If your interested pm me. Still be cheaper than if you buy somewhere else. it's mint.
