1fast97gsx,
Yeah thanks for the compliment, I worked hard to keep my setup looking clean
and simple. Chicago winters and salted roads are a bi*** on the engine compartment
The 2 black cutouts are actually cold air duct holes for the radiator. They cut
thru the bumper cover, styrofoam, and then the bumper itself. As the pictures
show, I fabbed up an aluminum/plastic ductwork to completely force all incoming
airflow into and thru the radiator. I think the dimensions are 2"x9" for each cutout. I left some material in the center to shore up my bumper reinforcement
and support the bumper cover itself. I then used a little textured rubber edging to cover up the cutout edges. I thought it would turn out like hell but it came out
looking alright and coolant temps are kept low.
Yeah, I've seen a few modified DSM's on the street near Orland Park with FMIC's but never a race. What does your car look like? I'm heading out to Route 66 Raceway in Joliet on September 14 for a test and tune, hope to see a few Chicagoland DSMr's there.
98spydert,
Hehehe, actually my turbo is a small T28
Pretty stealthy and with HKS 264/264 cams, FMIC, cold air induction and 24 psi (100 octane) is amazingly quick for a turbo its size. I think its all in the supporting mods. I just took a few closeup snapshots of the I.C./Radiator ducting, just for you man
