I cant find a leak down tester. the auto shops I called kept thinking i meant compression test and didnt even know what a leak down test was. and i dont want to buy 1 because the money i got i need to use for fixing the head. does anyone know a place that loans them out or should i just not worry about the leak down test and take the head off and just look for the problem and replace any bad parts. opinions?

this one is definitly alot cheaper then the other ones i found. its worth buying to. i found others like ebay and stuff for around $75. and it didnt seem worth it just to confirm a problem.
thanks

That Mach V piece is not a leak down tester, it is a boost leak tester.

A leak down tester will tell you where that lost compression is going. Is it going past the valves, past the rings, between the bores because of a blown head gasket are all possibilities.

In reality if the numbers are that low and even 0 then you have a serious problem and time to pull the head no matter what. Sorry.

ya i figured. well atleast ill save money and not get a tester thing. well hopfully it stops raining soon so i can go finish removing the head. i know its a big expensive job ahead of me :toobad::dsm:
