bought a new wideband for my 2g and need to know the best way to hook it up.i have a maft and bigger injectors so i want to data log to tune the maft.how can i set up my wideband to read and log with a laptop

I second the DSMLink route because it allows you to log and tune as well. Your LC-1 has an analog output wire that, when spliced into your car's wiring harness, can be logged by DSMlink. I'm currently pretty happy with my LC1/DSMLink combo. Good luck

i dont have dsm link ! i wish i did but i have a new maft and a laptop and a new lc1 with gauge . i need to know how to install it for use to log with lap top.i can just use a program to run to log runs right. also if i can what do i need to make it happen.i need to get it installed in my car so i have it ready to tune with.i am going to install some venom 650cc injectors and 3 1/2 inch gm maf and need to know how to set it up the way i am wanting .

your lc1 kit should come with a cable that has a serial port for a laptop(OLDER laptop) which plugs right in and you just install the software from the disk and there you go, but if you have a laptop that is less than 5 years old you most likely will not have a serial port...but if you're running 650cc injectors and a GM MAF as well as wideband the DSM link is really your best option because it has everything all in one program to make tuning easier

well unless the lc1 came with a USB cable then you CAN'T use a brand new laptop. this is where the dsm link comes in handy. with the dsm link you can wire the lc1 into your ecu and the dsm link will be able to read the signals from it. not only that but dsm link can work with your GM maf better than anything else

Your LC-1 should have come with a 2.5mm audio jack to serial cable. The 2.5mm audio end will plug into a receptacle from the LC-1 unit. You'll then need to get a serial to USB cable (I recommend the Keyspan adapter) so you can adapt the serial end of the cable into a USB end to use in your new computer, since it most likely doesn't have a serial port.

As for wiring up the LC-1, it's just like the instructions say (or the dozen plus threads on here about it).

Brown - Gauge
Red - Accessory power supply
Blue + White (+Green if your unit has it) - Grounded using same crimp ring
Yellow - not used if not logging
Black - not used

my computer has the db9 port on it the same as the cable that came with my lc1.so if i use my lap top and wide band to log what wire need to go where to get info from the ecu. would like to install my lc1 tomorrow. and i also need info to setup my maft to run with stock injectors for now what knobs need to be on what numbers and need help with the little switches.thanks for the info kinda new to fuel tuneing.

If you just have the LC-1 and a gauge (XD or DB), with logworks you cannot log anything else besides AFR. If you wish to log MAP, MAF, RPM etc. you will need to buy an additional innovate logger box like SSI-4 or LMA-3.

Analysing AFR and tuning accordingly will be problematic if you cannot log the other key parameters into the same log file.
