Late spool with 16g

okok, now I KNOW something's wrong....stock compression..

FP big16g

4500 rpm 2nd and above

20 psi

what the hell's wrong?? I understand the bigger the turbo the slower the spool time, but shouldn't I be spooling faster? I have upper and lower 2.25" IC hardpipe, 1g TB, ported o2 housing and exhaust manifold gasket, 3" DP, hi-flow cat, 2.5" cat-back. My vacuum lines are as short and direct as possible. The ONLY thing that isn't done is I have an Apex 3" intake with a custom intake...but that shouldn't effect me that much. What's wrong?

do a compression test. do you have any exhaust leaks by the manifold?

As far as I'm aware compression and vacuum are normal, but I'll try.

I was having problems getting my car to spool to only 10 psi with the boost controler turned as far as it would go (in the correct direction). So when i took my O2 housing off to put my new exaust on I saw the problem. There was a huge crack in my turbine housing that ran right across my waste gate hole and curled around inside the whole housing. I replaced and haven't looked back.

I have no problem reaching 20 psi, and I pull 16 or 17 for vacuum at idle, so I don't think it's a compression issue....although I'll do a test later today. Maybe the stock SMIC is too small for my setup?

I believe your vacuum should be a little higher than that. Mine is at 20 at idle.
