Here's a couple videos of a run I made last month. It was my first run of the night, car wasn't tuned properly. Hey, don't we always have some excuse? ;) But seriously, it wasn't, as you can see from the knock count (the upper number on the SAFC). You may not be able to read the digit, but you can see that it is a 3 digit number! OMG

I guess it was a decent run, but I don't think so considering my mods. I have since ironed out a few of the major problems and will have it back out to the track shortly. Even still, I got that automatic LS1 by about 4 lengths!

This video is the same run from inside the car

It was a 13.72 @ 108 mph. Had a horrible 2.23 60' time. Relatively high mph for the time, but this was due to the bad 60' time.

I was trying to tune for 22 pounds of boost. That was my first run, and I only hit 18.5 pounds (damn EBC). I only had one run where I hit 22 pounds, but I missed a gear! That was the run I hit 99 mph at the 1/8 mile.

I think the only accurate way to display knock on a 2G is thru DSMLink. The stock ecu only goes up to 43 counts of knock so its impossible to see knock counts in the triple digits. I recommend that you invest is a logger so that you can view your timing curve. You also stated that you trapped at 99mph in the 1/8th with a good tune, damn thats hauling ass. Are you still on stock cams and were you using pump gas or race gas? You should be running that 57 trim at 25-27psi because this is its peak efficiency range.

The SAFC doesn't read knock count correctly. I got that directly from a tech at RRE and Extreme PSI. Mine was reading 150 counts of knock at idle one day WTF So, you know that's not right. You need to get a logger. My AFC was way off according to MMCD. The AFC would read 0 counts of knock at WOT and I would actually have right around 12. I wouldn't trust that AFC at all, especially when it comes to blowing your motor up.

Nice run though, you really pulled him up top. It looked like you two were side by side in the 1/8 and you just left him. I always like sticking it to domestics.

I had a guy in a 2001 Cobra and his buddies laughing at my car in the staging lanes last time I went to the track. I pulled him about three cars out the hole and just kept on walking him. I missed third and still got him by about five cars in the 1/4 and still ran a 13.7. I was talking with one of my buddies that was there with me after we left and he said the guy left right after he got off the track (must have embarassed him) ROFL

Yeah, I know the SAFC doesn't read knock correctly or accurately, but I still feel it's somewhat of a guideline. Mine will get off after a while and read high knock, so I recalibrate the knock and it's back to "normal". But again, I know I should have a logger.

I like sticking it to the domestics also, but then I'm somewhat of a hypocrite. I love domestics, so while I love killing them, I feel like I've hurt one of my own. LOL Hell, I even have a Corvette emblem tattood on my leg. I've always said my favorite thing about my car is its stealthiness, and the fact that everyone thinks it's slow because it has a 4 cylinder and a big exhaust pipe. Turns out the joke's usually on them!

There was a strange issue with the guy I raced. Turns out the track official accidentally stuck the same number on our cars, and out of hundreds of cars there that night, we lined up next to each other. So at the staging lane, the official ran up and put an "A" after my number to distinguish. When we finished the race and I got my slip, the lady at the booth was confused. So I went to the pit area and asked the guy I raced if he ran faster than a 13.7, because I knew that if he did then we had the timeslips mixed up. He said he didn't, and then got all pissed off at me for "spraying"! ROFL I was like, "what?" And he said yeah, all you guys have to spray to beat us and it's not fair. I guess "us" was V8's, and "you guys" was imports. Anyway, I didn't feel like wasting time convincing him that not only was I not spraying, my car was running like crap and I should've put another 10 lengths on him. :D So I just laughed and drove off.

so what is a 57 trim capable of? (time wise and or hp)

your car must have been running like crap to only pull a 13.7 with your mods. good kill though. if he would have acused me of spraying I would have apologized and asked him to run again off the bottle for money. :sneaky:

That was on 93 octane pump gas. Yes, I'm on the stock cams.

I plan on tuning to 25 psi with race gas when I get things all ironed out. One major problem I had was an Ebay header that was very thin and the tube to the wastegate cracked, plus it had an exhaust leak, and plus my T3 turbo inlet was about a 1/4" smaller than the header collector. This was very evident in the turbo lag I would get when I shifted.

I've since put on an SBR equal length stainless header and ported the turbo. Plus I'm getting more of the damn EBC figured out, although I still hate it.
