A FRIEND OF MINE WRECKED HIS ECLIPSE SPYDER 97 AND IS GOING TO GIVE IT TO ME FOR FREE SINCE HE RACED FOR SLIPS AND WON A TOYOTA SUPRA 95 IT LOOKS GOOD ANYWAYS IM CONSIDERING IT ITS GOING TO NEED FRAME WORK I WILL POST PICTURES THE ENGINE DOESNT LOOKED TOUCHED AND (im sorry i just now notice i was typing in caps) but the frame resitor bar or whatever is bent bad in the middle i guess it took the impact pretty good.... how much should it cost to repair the frame work on it? know any good places that will do it for cheap like Maaco or something? should i go ahead and get the car for free and repair it

depending on what kind of clutch u want. an oem can be bought for a little more than $100. an aftermarket clutch range from $250-350 all depending on wat clutch. as for labor, you are looking at $350-450.

those prices sound reasonable for a clutch system i guess.... im also hoping thats the reason it wont start because the clutch pedal has no play and there is no fluid in the system someone told me i maybe messed up my flywheel dont know what that is...

and yea he raced his dads 87 supra vs 94 or 95 supra both got turbos but his dads 87 supra well lets just say his dad only races on the tracks

What part of tx is this car in?

I havn't looked under the hood of one of those in a long time but it may have a front end that you can just unbolt and get a new one (jjunkyard). If it doesn't turn over I would be really worried. can you spin the engine with a breaker bar?

i would have no idea how to spin a engine never heard of it.... pictures or something will help alot.... no thinks its the clutch thats out

let a female know if this is a good deal..... 1800 to fix the body work and paint it the same color and everything 900 parts 900 labor i have it but do any shops run engine checks be4 i send it to get fix i want to see if the engine still works

its not bad since you got car for free but do yourself a favor and make sure the people doing the work are good people and know what their doing. No afence but if a women walked in flashing all this cash saying fix this car what do i need ? your in BIG trouble. Get someone who knows what their talking about(again no afence) and have him talk to these people and when they say 900 for parts , ask what parts ? how much is each one ? write me a list of everything !

well i know the person in a way... its my brother's friend he works at a body shop n he brought him and his manager.... could it be the starter also or something else... because the gear shifter still wont move outta 1st gear could that be my trans?

it probably locked up. I wouldn't worry about that just yet, although if its more than that, then i would get the transmission looked at before i decided to redo the entire body of the car.

Whoever this guy is that gave it to you is, ask him if he could take a look at the engine components, assuming already that he tunes his own cars.

yall making not wanting to fix it... i cant get the engine looked at because everyone wants to tow it to there garage and then when they give u a high price they want to do the work...my friend thats fixing the body says he know someone that can look at the engine and tell me if its good....theres no way someone can hook it up to something and see if the engine is good

there is a god.... found someone to do the body work for 1800 and now all i have to worry about is why the shifter wont move....?

i dont think that i would be worried about the bosy so much as the main parts, engine / tranny. Start from there or your have a new looking body with a pile of dust under the hood.

If push comes to shove and you really want the car and I assume you would since you have it in a body shop you could always buy a JDM engine that comes with a tranny or rebuilt engine with a rebuilt tranny... Dont stress... it might cost you a total of 2000 to get it all installed but look at it this way you will have a turboed car in mint shape for under 5k.... thats really good.
