I need struts and bushing and an alignment and drive shaft joints and carriers.... anyway, the question. I will NOT be lowering the car, farm town. Even the SUVs around here are missing the front bumper and air dam. Whats a good set up on stock height?

dont have the budget for a full coilover set up. will probably go AGX and prothane bushings all around. my goal is about $2000 into the complete car with the goal of manhandleing my friends F-body TA, hes got about $20,000 into his car, little over half of that was the car though.

ive got about $1200 into mine so that leaves me with 600 for the suspension, alignment and prothanes, and a little extra for some other needed maintenance items.

Stock or <1" of drop; AGXs will be a good choice. Any lower and you'll not be that happy, but that appears to be a non-issue.

So your budget would be 600 then.

KYB AGX can be found for under 490 online (front and back) for the 1g.

Bushing, alignment, and other suspension components(I am assuming sway bar end links, tie rod(maybe inner and outer) ) is definitely going to set you over 600 with the kybs.

Drove around on kyb agx for all 4 wheels for an entire year with stock ride height (refused to lower the car, its a DD and personally like the stock height, looks rally style) and enjoy the ride a lot. Huge improvement over stock, although my suspension was about 19 years old at the time, I am sure anything would have felt better. Great buy over stock and easy installation. I even picked up new strut towers and bolts while I was at it from JNZ(also kyb). FYI kyb makes most of our suspension oem components.

I am currently waiting on coilover from the DGR suspension group buy.:thumb:

i think i can get most of it for 600$ and all ive got left to do is drive shaft joints, and change the tranny fluid, so ive got some wiggle room in the budget. plus the alignment shop here does all the work and for cheap enough its not worth my time to change them out if they are doing the alignment anyway.

yeah mines rolling around on the stock 20 yr old components. the kid spent thousands on bolt on engine crap and did no maintenance to anything. typical, but with out people like that i wouldnt have picked up my dream car for 500$.

I've been running the stock spring and agx combo for a year. At first they were very stiff no matter what setting at put them. They were great for launches but after six months the fronts blew, which ruined the ride. The rears are still holding strong though.
