My car has been running perfectly, Up until today.

i was cruising at about 90mph when my rpms dropped like my electrical system died or something, I Pulled over popped the hood and heard a slight knocking noise. I Drove about another 45miles to my house and the knocking noise got worse, MUCH worse.

I Pop the hood and the car knocks at idle, and at all rpm ranges.

It sounds like it may be the crank pully, I do have a 7 bolt motor with 160k some odd miles on it. Brand new topend. Im praying to god its the crank pully.

My buddys are conviced its coming from the bottom end of the motor, But it really sounds like its coming from the crank pully.

I Also have been having a really loud squeeling noise when the car is cold, That goes away after about 60 seconds of driving the car.

Anyone have any idea what this could be?

If its coming from the bottom I would guess rod knock but it is hard to tell where it comes from. Rod knock has a distintive sound and if you have heard it before you would know. If could also be a broken balance shaft belt.

i have no smoke, no overheating,no low oil pressure etc. Everything seems to be PERFECT.

i did notice as soon as this happened, it seemed like i had a massive boost leak as well.

Can anyone point me to a video with a rod knocking or a sound clip?

Thanks
