knock problem

I've read through some of the common problems for causing knock, yet am unable to fix my problem. I have been getting 43 counts of knock and -2 degrees of timing. I replaced knock sensor, fuel filter, injectors, bov, plugs, revised lifters.. checked every hose for boost leak, plugged the egr valve, and none of that had solved the knock problem.

I have changed out the ECU's, along with the Maf and neither of those made any difference.

I ordered in some of the revised 3g lifters, installed them. Problem is still there. Could it still read knock because they're trying to settle in?

It's timed correctly, 5 degree base timing. Still reading knock and pulling timing.

It's almost as if it's not giving fuel, as though a lean knock, or the fuel pump's not working. There's a little bit of voltage lag in the O2 sensor. I'm still getting .95-.96 volts wot and no knock.

Knock occurs between 2500-3000rpm.

My current setup consists of:
EvoIII turbo, 550 injectors, Gm maft, STi fuel pump, stock smic and stock boost

Anyone have any suggestions?

Are you spark plugs gapped to spec, and did you torque down the knock sensor to 17 ft/lbs?
What do you mean "voltage lag" in the O2 sensor? Are you reading off the stock narrowband sensor?
Make sure you're not leaking fuel, and that you're getting enough. What's the STi pump rated at anyways? I've never heard of it being used on a DSM.
Also make sure you're not overheating. Do you have a water temp. gauge?
What are you using to tune with?

also you should try the cumbustion chamber cleaning process with mopar comustion chamber cleaner or seafoam cleaner.

I just want to know if there is anyway logging your car and sending us the data. I need to know what your car is doing at all times to find your problem. Your problem could be as simple as bad fuel in the system. But like I said, we need actual logs to find out.

phantom knock. god this problem sucks. i have had it in my last 2 talons. i have tried almost everything except a chip. im pretty much giving up on it and just waiting till my fully built 2.0 goes in....

Check the knock sensor for correct torque. If it's overtightened it'll give false knock readings. Correct spec is 17 lb/ft. Also consider swapping in a known working ECU from a friend's car if you can to make sure that it doesn't have something to do with the ECU fuel drivers.

I'd also check voltage to the fuel pump and swap it if the readings are out of spec.

Spark plugs gapped to spec, knock sensor torqued to spec.

The STi fuel pump is equivelent to a 190 (and is made my Walbro as well).

I've been tuning using the pocket logger along with translater.

Anyways, I ended up tearing apart the head. I found several things that would cause phantom knock, and a few things for real knock. Oil pump wasn't alligned properly for one. The head gasket is still the original, and has never been changed. Taking off the exhaust manifold, copper flakes were built up along the gasket. So I'm assuming it's a bad valve guide. I'm going to replace the entire head for a good one, along with smaller cams (was running webb- which are larger then 272).

Just a quick question how the hell did you guys get a torque wrench in the back of the motor where the sensor is. Also the sensor does not fit on a socket because of the wire and its kind of a square shape.

They make small torque wrenches that read in/lbs all you have to do is the math. And there are many sockets available in different sizes with slits or slots in them for wires. Example o2 sensor sockets, oil pressure sensor sockets, etc etc.
