Kinda worried..

Ok i went to the track yesterday for opening night and my friend ran his car. His car is alittle quicker than mine and he ran a 15.7. This worries me because we thought he'd run around a 13.9 - 14.3. And because of this i thought my car would run around a 14.1 - 14.4. Could this be because it was around 34 degrees out last nite or could this be right. I have a 1997 gst with a walboro 255 fuel pump, intake pipe, turbo back exhaust, act 2600 cluthc, act streetlite flywheel, underdrive pulley, 245/45 kumho drag radials, and a manuel boost controller running 15lbs of boost. Would i also be running in the high 15's, anyones input on what they think i should be running would be greatly appreciated.

Most of the time quarter mile times reflect the driver more than the car. So the only way you can see what you and your car are capable of is by practicing.

15.7 is exactly what a stock 2g is said to run

That is going to be your big thing right there. They driver. Ask him what he was shifting at. Anything about 6500 at the track is just losing time. Also it depends on how much tire spin you get off the line. I have seen almost a second difference between drivers on the same car just because of shift patterns and there launch. Especially on FWD.

note to agree: my car kept running 16 flats til I figured out how to launch it, now it runs 15.5s...shift at or a little before 6 to get most horse power out of the high end

My car 15.1 with intake and exhauast only. This was with 205 wal-mart specials. That was with a fuel problem that did not allor me to go full throtle. Don't worry about it.

Yea my friend is a very good driver but he was launching at around 2000 yesterday because of the temperature. Also he has extremely small tires on his car to so he did not have much traction at all. Also what would you guys say i would need to get my car to run low 13's to high 12's. I have been looking at a evo III 16g nad a dsm link along with some bigger injectors and an exhaust manifold. And i jus purchased a new short shifter, thanks for all the input.

I would get a FPR real soon. You are overrunning your stock one and that isn't helping you at all either. EVO III 16g. Some 650's and DSMLink would get you into the mid-low 12's depending on who tuned it and how well they knew the program. Exhaust manifold is fine. Just get your stock one ported and you will flow just as good as the rest of them.
