anyone deal with these people's motors? Ive read good things about there other parts, But a few bads things about the motors.

Anyone have one of there motors ?

Had one. It blew and warped the head about 800 miles after their 600-mile warranty expired, driving it normally as a DD. Had to get it fully rebuilt. Also, when I got the car (midway through the warranty period) it was leaking oil and water from a number of seals. Their solution was to patch it up with RTV sealant, rather than to replace the bad seals.

George is a good guy, but that's his job.

Though it's not KarKing's fault, the head I ended up with also had a manufacturing defect; a bubble apparently formed in the aluminum, in the wall between a watering passage and an exhaust port, that eroded away and started to leak. Machine shop can't fix it, so now I get to go buy a new bare head. That bit's coincidence, but it sure doesn't make me feel any better about the rebuild with less than 2000 miles on the engine.

did the engine look like they are pictured? squeeky clean and spotless?

Im debating buying one, But i dont have 1400 bucks to blow on something that wont be reliable

I've got one with about 10,000 miles now and have had no problems. The motor was very clean, no leaks, compression test was good. It's been running strong but I'm going to replace the timing belt soon just to be safe, you never know what brand they may have used. I know they say OEM or better but I'd rather get somthing I know will last and has been proven quality.

I bought a Cam sensor from them and they sent me one that wasnt for the correct year or model. :notgood: And I triple checked with them before I ordered it to ensure I was getting the right one, but I didnt.

they remove the Balance shaft / belt from there motors correct?

ill be getting the 1g turbo 6bolt block

Do a search here, and you'll find out they don't actually use OEM parts. They use some brand called ROCK. I've read several failures from this company on here. Just search around, and you'll find the same things.

hi everyone just posting to clear things up i see alot of opinions and theories out there here at kar king we do have the 4g63 turbo 6bolt rebuilt longblock and what i wanted to clear up is the parts we use this way you heard it from the actual provider not second hand.
on our 6bolt 4g63 turbo rebuilt longblock new parts installed are:
pistons from "rockprod.com"
piston rings "hastings"
rod bearing "rockprod.com"
main bearings "rockprod.com"
full gasket and seal set "rockprod.com"
oil pump "mits oem"
water pump "airtex"
timing belt "rockprod.com"
timing belt hydraulic tensioner "mits oem"
both timing belt idler bearing "mits oem"
head is a complete rebuilt with new valves if needed from "rockprod.com"
we do remove balance shafts on every one we do

we use that mixture of providers because of all the years
doing these engines this is the best formula for us
and yes the price is $1200.00 on a longblock no valve cover no oil pan
core deposit required is $150.00 only thing we ask of core is
that the block is not broken beyond that if it's buildable or not
that would be our problem we will not punish you for it.
and for shipping i'm in southern california city of ontario
within 100 miles from me shipping is $35.00
after that we have to put it on a skid and frieght truck it
and for that round trip it's anywhere between $200.00 or $225.00
depends on your location anywhere in the united states
except HI and AK for these areas please call us we will get you a price.

i hope this clears things up alittle and wish the best to you all!

i will NEVER deal with karking again. I cant even begin to say how displeased i am with their work. Here's what happened...

1. When I got my car back with there 7bolt rebuilt motor, it was making a whining
noise coming from the timing belt side. Still haven't figured out what it is...

2. It started leaking oil from the oil pump cover. I fixed it myself.

3. My turbo went out because i had a massive boost leak. Thats what I get for trusting them completely and not doing a boost leak test. This was about 3 months after. When I noticed I was smoking from my tailpipe I checked for oil in the mani, etc... and did a boost leak test. Found 3 huge ones, no wonder the turbo blew, it was overworked. All the boost leaks where from loose connections.

4. I took it back to them and they took the turbo off, sent it to the manifacturer, get the new one in and the blew that one. I had my car towed back to my house and took the turbo off myself. I sent it to the Mani and they said the damage was caused because it had no oil. They did not prime it.

5. They put 2 dents on my car. One above my driver's side rear wheel, and the other was on my front bumper. He told me about the dent in the front and said i could buff it out it was no big deal. I said ok, cool. When I got it, it is across my whole front bumper, and deep.

I would not recommend them to anyone. I don't even feel like complaining to them anymore. I'll take the loss
