K&N Filter sizing help

This site may earn a commission from merchant affiliate links, including eBay, Amazon, and others.

honestly, for 45 plus 35 shipping, then buying a K&N filter will put you to about 110+

You could have bought the extremepsi kit and choose the K&N Filter for the same price.

There is no need to waste money on a new filter when you have a new filter, just wait till the one in the kit looks beat up and shitty then buy a new one.

I purchased the Forced Performance 4" intake last year with K&N 9" filter last year. You can purchase the filter alone with 3" inlet or 4" inlet diameter on the cone filter. This might work for you on the plastic section between the intake pipe and where filter hooks up on your ebay kit.. Keep in mind this fit for me since i have no MAF, its a large filter.. Check it out for example below:thumb:

Forced Performance Turbochargers: K&N Cone Filter

It might work, but i guess you would have to look for the diameter inlet 2.5 or 3 by 6 inches or something.. i think k&N has multiple cone styles. Find one that suits you best

Is that website good? I've been looking around and alot of them look shady.

Your best bang for the buck is the K&N FIPK.
HUGE filter to go with a HUGE mouth.
It comes with an adapter for the MAF.
About $110 for it tho.

All other filters no matter what you buy you will need the adapter.
And in most cases, they don't come with one.

Measure the outside diameter of the adapter. Go to Oreilly's/Advance/Vatozone and have them find you a filter that has the same inside diameter that you pressviously measured. Make sure its not to long to fit in the space available.

Done.

My adapter plate is approximatly 3.75" Inches outside diameter. I had to purchase a filter with a 4" inside diameter. Its about 7 inches long. It fits snug in the engine bay.'

DSMParts.com is fine. I bought my FP Intake pipe and couplers through them. It was drop shipped directly from Forced Performance and included a couple stickers.

Also, trash the vacuum lines that came with that. I guarantee they will suck closed under vacuum. I had a customer bring in a car with ones of those cheap ebay intakes. Your basically paying 45-50$ for a metal pipe and an adapter plate. Imo its a ripoff. The clamps were all rusty, the vacuum lines looked like shit, and the filter was literally falling apart. The coupers were meh. A couple more months and they would need replacing.
