so im 16 and i just got myself a 95 talon esi with the 420i. its got a completely rebuilt motor so im in a pretty good position to put a lot of money on it. i also just started a job yesterday so i havent put any money into it yet. i was wondering if anyone here has any tips from past experiences that they might tell me. id rather learn from other peoples mistakes than my own. over the summer im gonna try to work my ass off and get a stage 1 turbo kit if i can. just tell me anything that i really need to know or any parts you really liked. like ive already found out that the feul pumps on these cars are a little funky whenever they get turbos, i just wanna know stuff like that. also does anyone know any good shops in the St. Louis area? thanks a lot. i really really appreciate your help

learn everythign you can possibly cram into that head of yours it is by far the best way to do anything then bank your cash hard untill you got enough to do what you really want but make sure you have enough on the side if somethign really bad happens.

Other then that i say go at it. :) :) :) :) i also will be starting to mod and such soon to my 90 awd

Good luck man

Congrats on your Talon! So you know, the engine is a 420a (not 420i) and although it doesn't match up to the 4G63 for power production on a stock block, it's a great platform to get started with. I recommend what the above poster said; visit the forums as much as possible and look at the N/T Turbo Conversion area to learn things that are relative to your goals.

Also, you may want to look into a stage II setup from Hahn instead of a stage I. I've never heard anything strange about the fuel pumps in these packages, but to put your mind at ease, take a look at:

http://www.hahnracecraft.com

The only advice I can offer with respect to N/T mods is not to do any if you plan to turbo the car since things like a cold air intake and header will have to be swapped for parts that would work with a Hahn kit. Maintain it well, save your pennies and do it right!

Hope that helps,

Andy
