I have a 95 talon tsi awd 5 speed. I changed the timing belt yesterday and when I was done I couldn't even get the car to crank. I know the motor isn't frozen, the dash lights come on, and I can hear the fuel pump. What the hell is going on??

Thanks in advance for any help.

Mark

it sounds to me like you might have either knocked the CAS loose or broken it, check it out

Note: I am not a mechanic and that is the only thing i can think of that would do that. and i think that's the name of it, but anyways, there's a sensor that checks the position of the cams or crankshaft, one of the two, that won't let your car start if it has failed/become unplugged

No, it will not even spin. I hear the fuel pump and I have lights on the dash, but no cranking.

UPDATE: I finally did get it to crank. Don't know what happened or changed. But now it won't crank again. So how do I know if the CAS is shot or not?
