Just Removed the Mesh in Front Bumper

That drop down piece is black from the factory. Yours is painted because the person before you (at least I'm assuming it wasn't you) got in a (hopefully minor) accident and replaced the bumper with an aftermarket look alike, when he had it painted, he forgot to tell them to mask that piece off. You can tell yours is aftermarket because it doesnt have the mitsubishi logo indented between the headlights. There was an indentation beneath the mitsubishi decal in the bumper cover. You can see the indentation in Wobet's pic. His piece is painted because when he did the 2ga to 2gb swap he made the same mistake as the previous owner of your car.

thanks man thats all I needed to know, I wasn't sure if people were painting theirs or it came stock.

and dsmtun3r98gst i didn't remove the air duct.

I don't mean to thread jack but I wanna clean mine up to and commenting here is better then making another duplicate thread. What is that skinny pole thing in front of my rad, and the dent in my steal cross bar, is that a big deal? (it hit something when it was stolen).

it helps support the frame so u can close the hood.. un screw it and you will see what i mean

this is hilarious, this is very old though, i remember seeing this back in the mid 90's

interesting :hmm:

I dont know what piece you guys are talking about, I bought my car like that to.

After i removed that mesh crap. i took out the fog light trim pieces and painted them. Here's what it looks like all said and done. Sorry for car's dirtiness, it's winter :thumb:

also if anyone has a write up on how to paint that drop down piece right in the middle of the bumper. idk a name for it. Crazy boy has his painted black.

thanks

If your talking about the Spot in the middle at the top with three groves, who cares if it isn't black it's just plastic LOL

Yeah thats the piece. Its not a huge deal, but it does look better black. Most people will not notice, but once you do, you realize why the factory chose to leave it black and have some contrast. In my opinion it looks much cleaner black, but like I said, very few outside the DSM world would even notice.
