I just fashioned some hoses and recircuilated my Blitz BOV, while the blitz was loud as hell venting to the atmosphere, the sound is NON EXISTANT with it recicirculated, which in a way, i really like. But anyways, I was wondering if there is any way I can get the BOV sound back without sacrificing any performance. While, I love the sound of the Blow off, I guess it just reassures me or something, I am more concerned about performance and my pockets are tight, so my gas mileage is also a concern.

Also if anyone wants to know how I did this, I did it a little differently than the other tutorial floating around on the internet. I'll post pics tommorow...

Peace...

If the retarded owner before me didn't have the Blitz BOV FACING the intake pipe, I wouldn't have much of a problem hooking it back into the intake..but he did so the room is too little to get it to recirculate. I'd be curious as to how you did it though.

I bought the blitz Bov from one of my friends who purchased a Greddy Type-S. I am tight on money and got it for a good deal. I noticed immediately that my car was not running the way it should. My gas mileage was horrible, I was running incredibly rich in-between shifts. Not the way I wanted my car to perform. While I love the sound the Blitz DD produces, I would rather sacrifice that for better performance as this Mod cuts out almost ALL sound coming from the BOV. (Some may really like this)

Here is the method I used to do this:

What I used:

2-3” of 2 1/4” i.d. (I used radiator hose)
Original dump tube
Filter that came with the Blitz Bov
2-2.5” Worm Clamps (3)

---------------

The difference in this method from the other is that you do not have to modify your original dumptube, among other things.

---

First you are going to cut the metal filter part off of the filter that came with the Blitz DD

(see how nice I am)

Attach the filter to the BOV

Then position the BOV outlet facing the front of the car (you)

Now position the stock dump tube so that it is ending right where the outlet of the filter is.

This is where the radiator hose comes in handy. Cut about a 2-3 '' portion (you can tell how much you need by the space between the cut filter and the end of the dump tube.

Now connect the two with the worm gear clamps.

Connect the vaccuum hose and the dumptube, tighten everything up, and your ready to go.

NOTE: I do not know what method is more effective, I am just sharing my experience with others who wish to do the same. I did not want to cut my stock dump tube and found an easy way around it that proved much easier than the other method. My car is now running the way it was meant to and I am happy.

I have a bunch of this vinyl flex tube:

Used it on my BOV as you can see, didnt wanna cut up the stock tube like I have in the past. It would make for a cleaner install, it'll prolly make your BOV a bit louder as well as it did to my stock 1G (sounds vented). I havent put this stuff up for sale, but Id be willing to sell it for wholesale price for what I can get it for at my work (a bit cheaper than what it retails for, thats for sure).

i know how you can get the sound back, when i vented my greddy type-s sound was nearly non existent. Go to the hardware store, buy some pvc pipe with about the same opening as the blowoff valve. Also buy a bend. Use a dremel kit with a cutting blade to cut the bend at the right angle then use some jb weld to attach it to the straight peice of pvc piping. After you have done this use a coupling and 4 small clamps matched to the pvc piping to attach the pipe to your blowoff valve and return opening in the intake and WHALA your done. The harder plastic really echoes the sound more, and it looks sweet if you paint it!

(also make sure you have done the free mod where you shorten the blowoff valve dump tube that hangs down in your intake)
(i used the dremel kit to also port my pvc a little bit to get slightly better airflow)
(afterwards i painted mine to match my intake and intercooler piping, looks sweet, like it came with the intake)
(please post or im if you need a tutorial on how to do this with pictures, its simple, but im not sure how good i explained it) :thumb:

HOPE THIS HELPS!

i have a type s recirculated and it is loud as hell, like you can hear it down the block when it pops off at high boost. get a hard intake pipe, even my stock bov became pretty loud when i got mine. i have the injen intake and from the moment i put it on the turbo sounds became really loud.. you can hear air sucking into the turbo really obviously when its boosting and the blowoff sounds are really nice too :D
