Just Put On Intake

i just did my first modification to my 1997 GST. I got a k@n air intake off of ebay, and it is awesome! I can finally really hear my stock turbo and stock bov! The only problems i have come across is that the oil temp gauge is a little higher and the air filter itself just kind of hangs loose in the engine bay. It doesnt knock against anything but i just dont have a good feeling about it. If any one can give me some i put on if its allright and if not how can i fix it? Thanks

You could always zip tie it to something to hold it in place.

oil temp gauge... Well I dont see what oil temp has to do with an knN filter, and if your talking about the stock oil gauge in the console then thats an oil pressure gauge and even if it was a little higher that would be a good thing. And the filter hanging, shouldnt be hard to rearrange the set up not to hang, but personally I would leave the air can on and just hack the front out of it and open up the metal area in front of the intake area, like theres pieces you can take off on the paneling behind the head light to flow more abient air into that area, look on the tech guide on free mods... ( Oh and why leave the air can on, well on my friends gst we logged cooler air temps with the air can on and only hacked in the front, then with it completely off, ) the air can actually does a good job of blocking some of the heat so that the filter doesnt soak as much... Kind of weird but thats my experience with it, most ppl probably leave it off though.
