Recently got this car from a vehicle trade and so far I love it but it has some strange issues. I've been lurking here for a bit and the forum is great, got the 1G service manuals and they're a life saver. I have done a bunch of searches and cant find anything related to my problem.

It drives fine for about 10-15 minutes and then it starts to grind/bite 1st and 2nd gears. Not every shift in city driving, but most. I will adjust/bleed the clutch soon but seems strange to me its only after a bit not always. What is best way to bleed the clutch? I've only bled brakes before. I did searches on this and only brought up threads suggesting people do it, not how to.

But the bigger problem is, about 5 minutes after it starts grinding gears a little, acceleration starts studdering somewhat violently. Even when freeway cruising, it will start jerking hard. When I put it in neutral and rev while coasting theres no issues.

So I changed the fuel filter today hoping it was some fuel delivery issue, and it didn't seem to do much. It might be a little bit better but hard to say because I've only driven car once since and it was less violent but still happening. Letting the car sit for a while resets everything back to just fine, then 10-15 minutes later problems come back.

When I did the oil change/fuel filter change and put it back on the ground, now there seems to be a squeak that I believe is from the rear of the car that gets worse when I turn left, seems to not happen when turning right. Only thing I can think of would be the fuel pump somehow? It's important to line up the eye bolt hole on the fuel filter when torquing isnt it? When it bolts down snugly, it's not even kind of lined up, but torquing it quite a bit lines it back up. Is that wrong? That or maybe its from it being off the ground and settling down funny? I duno

Alrighty, I'll check that tomorrow, Thanks. I've seen automatics act up once warmed up but never a manual

What about the studdering? I just took it for a bit of a test drive again to see if it came back and it does but it seems to go away/lessen a few minutes later
