just got my o2 dump from punishment racing wow only took one day, can't wait to install it, DP and cat-back is in the mail!!

why is this in the problems / diagnostics section??? Nice dump although I would clean up the welds. It probably won't matter ... but just because you will always know how shitty they look even if other people can't see them.

I would make my own, i can weld.
But i dont know where to get these parts.
Jc whitney exhaust section or road race engineering do it yourself section. So not worth the money but thats just my opinion.

If your really interested in one i'm installing a external wastegate and am switching back to the stock(ported) 02 housing, so i won't need mine. It would be a week before i get it installed but i'd let it go for $60 shipped which is about what you would spend in parts and shipping(the flanges alone are $30 off rre) Just really consider if you really want it or not, it is loud as hell inside the car and i didn't notice any performance gain nor did it help the boost creep much at all. That previous statement about it sounding like a dsm with vtec is actually pretty accurate. But if you want more attention when you hit full boost your more than welcome to it. The housing has also been rewelded and ported so as not to promote backpressure where it meets the turbo and wg.

I'll probably have SBR port my stk turbine housing, install 34mm flapper, port O2 housing, SBR cast manifold and a RRE DP, high flow cat, a DIY N1 cat-back.

I've heard cars with the O2 Dump and I don't really care for them....

Peace

That looks like someone attacked that dump with a wire fed ARC welder. Makes me feel better about my welds, I might just try my hand at making one of these someday if I get real bored. I already have one, and yes -- LOUD. Forget WOT in town unless you want every cop within 5 blocks looking for you.

I can make dumps for barely nothing. i have a milling machine so i can mill the flanges and i have pipe and a welder all it takes is time and thats not very long. shite maybe ill start selling them for a 100 bucks a wack. it wont be to loud around town at least below wot. i have 3 in turbo back with no cats or restrictions and its not to loud. :p

Im tired of vendors selling garbage for a high price to dsm enthusiasts. This is one reason I taught myself to weld and refuse to pay inflated prices for this"garbage" they sell. I say we make a business called no garbage dsm. We could make quality parts at an enthusiasts price. A performance shop built by enthusiasts for enthusiasts. I couldnt see paying more than 60 bucks for the piece pictured at the said named site due to the "garbage" welds and "worthless" paint that burns off in the first 4 minutes of wot driving. For 215 bucks I could make 4 of them and coat them with "TURBO X" techline coating and could warranty them for 5 years no questions asked. http://www.techlinecoatings.com/Exhaust.htm Where this large profit margin comes in is beyond me. Most of you dont need one anyways. The engine can only force so much through the tiny exhaust opening that spins the impeller on the turbo. Once its past the impeller there is more than enough room for the exhaust. I can see upgrading if you have an 18g or above but below that a dremel and a few grinding wheels do the trick just fine.

If you only made $10 a shot, it wouldn't be cost effective enough for you to stay in business. Companies have overhead, workers, and parts to buy with those profits. They need to have some sort of an inventory for when orders start rolling in. Sure, 10-15 of these would be cheap to produce and sell if it was just you making/selling these. Do you want to work 7 days a week to keep up with orders? Probably not. You'd rather hire some help and work 1/2 as hard. Now you've got a payroll to take care of, not to mention taxes you're gonna have to start paying now that you're a LLC. I could go on and on, but I'll stop.

Basically, these vendors have to live too and as long as people are willing to pay for the product they're going to keep charging the same price. Economics my friend, economics.

Wow. I myself am pretty dusty when it comes to a welder. But I heard they have a 2-day welding college at that shop, and the person that made that piece was sick on WELDING 101 day.

Just messing around. Work on the pieces, but first I would complain, see if they will reimburse you, or tell them you want one with better quality, and if the say no, work on it yourself.

Speaking of cheap I came across this on ebay and for an obx piece I am very surprised by the pictures as it looks like its quality built. Now my only question is will the wastegate hit my hood when I close it due to the 2.4 stroker being in there? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/e...&item=7919264789&rd=1&sspagename=STRK:MEWA:IT

If its OBX its usually crap. I will admit that particualr header does look better than some of there other crap, but who knows if that is the one you will get. I have seen there Honda headers and they really suck. There welds are worse, I know its hard to believe, than the O2 housing that you have been talking about. I wouldnt chance it, unless you didnt mind paying 185.00 plus the extra incase it is crap. I personally, if going tubualr, would get a DNP mani. They ARE very nice and well worth the money.
