02 dump installation question.

Ok, I am getting ready to put my o2 dump on and I had a few questions. I ran several searches on vfaq, here, and dsmtalk... can't seem to find the exact answer I'm looking for. Chilton's also doesn't have the specific answer.

Question #1:

The stock gasket... is it ok to use with the new machined o2? I was a little worried that perhaps the seal wouldn't be as efficient being it wasn't made to match up to a machined surface.

Question #2:

My general theory was to just tighten the bolts as tight as possible... run the car, and then re tighten (due to heat expansion). Is this a sufficient way to torque the bolts down? Or is there a specific amount that should be used?

Any advice that can be given would be helpful.

Yeah, the stock gasket should be fine. We used the stock gasket on my buddies talon with a tubular dump and he had no problems.

That is the general way to do it. You want to make sure that you have no exhaust leaks. They kill a turbo car for many different reasons. There are factory torque specs for all the bolts in the car but you don't necessarily have to follow them on exhaust bolts. It is a good idea to retighten them a couple of times after you have done the install just to make sure that they never loosen. I actually had a manifold nut back all the way off and fall off after I pulled the manifold to fix a leak between the turbo and the manifold.
 
Do you mean like an OEM gasket or like reuse the same one you have on there? If it's metal, reuse it. If it's paper and looks kinda iffy, buy a new one. Save yourself the hassle later from exhaust leaks as the post above mine hints at.
 
Tighten the bolts down, then run it and go back and tighten again. You may want to do this more than just a couple times. Thats just my thought cause I always seem to spring exhausts leaks.

I do this all the time. I am constantly getting leaks as well. I got a nasty leak between the manifold and the turbo after doing a turbo swap and it really hurt spool time until I figured out what was going on.
