Hey guys!

Well I finally had a chance to hit the track for the first time this season on the new combo. I sold the Red earlier this year and have moved on to the 3065. Goal has been 10's since the shootout but I have been having some issues that up until last month were not resolved.

Today was the perfect weather for a track rental and probably the best Ive seen in years.. It was sunny 80 with a nice breeze. Started out the day with a scare when I killed a set of plugs on my second pass.

The night before I reminded my buddy to setup the anti lag however when I got to the track I found out he forgot and of course he was in CT and I was in NY. So I had to actually launch my car old school style, imagine that.

On my fifth pass I got my first 10 second pass:

60ft- 1.605
MPH- 129.15
1320- 10.916

I went several times after but kept having a horrible 1-2 shift. After going three times in the left lane I decided to change over to the right lane which would end up being my last pass of the day. Launched it hard and had my best 1-2 of the day. The results were:

60ft- 1.564
MPH- 118.81
1320- 10.80
Slip- http://www.kevins90gsx.com/Track/1080.jpg

I was very pleased with my results. We only have two events left that we plan to make, the Ohio shootout and the Etown shootout. Hopefully I can work it down to mid 10's once the anti lag is hooked up.

Im very excited to finally be over that hurdle. :)

Congrats!

What happened to the car that the MPH was so down on the 10.80 pass?

Yeah those numbers are crazy backwards. But at least you are happy. I know I would be!!! ROFL Congrats, can't wait for that video!

Nice man i got a buddy that has a GSX 95 and once his EMS gets tuned by AMS down here in Illinois hes going to be runnin very low 10's. Thats very impressive man keep it up

Way to go kevin, that's a damn good time, you obviously are driving the holy snot out of the car. Keep tinkering and you'll find alot more than 118mph in that turbo :D.

so um kevin.... why haven't you updated your site, for like a year? seriously not cool. It would be really helpful if you listed off all your mods for each time you ran.

either way, did you have a 14b, b16g, fp49 50 trim, green, red, and now a fp3065?

think you've spent enough money on turbos yet? Or did you never have the red? your site doesn't mention it at all, and I always thought the red was smaller than the green, so I didn't think you would downgrade.

congrads on 10's, A lot of fast dsm's in 2006.

well I just remember how close you were with the green and the afc. Well its still awesome that you are in the 10s finally. I hope your showing at the SO isd as impressive :)

Yeah I was close with the Green and probably could have gotten my 10's with just tire but whatever. We have the final setup we plan to use with the car. We did what we wanted to and I may retire after this season.

We shall see.

so were talking $5000 + in just turbos alone. You know you could have just cut to the chase and got a fully built motor and the 3065 for that much. Thats why I still have my 14b, I could pick up a 16g, or maybe a 50 trim, but I would rather just sit on my hands and wait til I have my car all ready for the exact turbo I want. (I've been looking at the 3065 as well, along with the 3565, I need something with a ball bearing center section, and a high cfm for a very, very high reving motor....)

and just because I know its going to happen, no I did not mean the 3575, I ment the 3565, which is a ball bearing center section, unlike the 3575 which has a 360 degree thrust bearing.

Definitely not. Your math is way off my friend. See Ive sold the turbos I have had. No clue where you get that crazy amount of $5000.00

Actually no Im very happy with the way I have gone with my turbos. I started out with a 16g 4 1/2 years ago and was running 12.8 then I moved on to a 50trim which was a learning experience however still went 12.1. After that I went with a green and saw 11.3's. The Red was short lived and the only mistake turbo I have bought. This hobby is fun for the simple fact that you can change combinations and do new things like me working my way from 12's to 10's. I wouldnt do it any different then I have over the years. Its all been a learning experience along the way that I have truly enjoyed.

Different strokes I guess.

Good luck to you.

Just curious why you are running such small injectors. What were you boosting on that run. I have a fp3065 also and just recently purchased FIC 1000's. I went that route because I have heard that running even 880's is pushing it with a 65lb capable turbo. What is your IDC at WOT? All this might be a waste of breath if your profile is not up to date, either way Im curious on these numbers. Thanks:thumb:

Well I dunno to be honest. We may upgrade to 1000's but we think were ok. I will have to check on the duty cycle but I know we tuned it safe and didnt play with timing so will see.

Congrats on the 10s run. I have same turbo and hope to make some runs at track likely only low boost runs this year and higher boost when get a new trans and some new axles.
What boost level were you running and no way that mph can be right on the second run. Should be 128.That would indicate a loss of 100 hp over your first run!
