After my car warms up going into thrid gear always grinds unless I slowly put it in and push so it almost goes into 4th thats the only way i get it from not grinding could any one tell me what the problem is and or what I could do to fix the problem?Maybe my master cylinder clutch adjustment rod needs to be turned out a bit? I have a 92 talon awd

Sounds to me your transmission synchro is goung out. They are expencive little buggers but you can get them from www.Teamrip.com 1st I would buy BG synchro shift it is the best gear fluid for our trannys. If that dosent help go with some new synchros. It dosent have to do with your slave cylender because it works in other gears. If your tranny has high miles on it you might be better of with getting a newer one. Hope this helps.

Yes he's correct that if the only gear you have a grind in is third then you are not having a slave cylinder problem, and before you do anything drastic you should change your transmission fluid. If your transmission fluid has metal shavings in it then you can go ahead and plan on buying a new transmission, but if there are ABSOLUTELY no metal shavings in the oil and you have a hunch that your transmission is ok then you should give your shifter cables a once over. (probably not the problem I have a feeling you have a transmission on it's way out.

It may not necessarily be a syncro as transmissions are complex little buggers, although it is almost certainly an internal transmission part wearing out.. (rather expensive I'm buying a new TRE trans tomorrow) HOWEVER despite the expense I HIGHLY recommend that you do not attempt to disassemble and fix your transmission yourself unless you have somone that is VERY proficient at transmission work around to help. I would recommend sending the transmission to TRE for a reman, which is great because you can pick all kinds of options and upgrades to do and I've seen first hand that TRE transmission are VERY well made.

Thanks for the info ill be doing an trans fluid change this weekend.Peace easy
