jdm trans question...pls help

Hi. Im new and i need your help.
I have a 93 awd laser and it needs a tranny bad.
I did some jdm searching and i found a c50ph jdm switchable tranny and transfercase.
I went and searched and searched google and i kinda found out about the possible diff ratios being out ...
99% of the things i read say that this tranny was from a 91-92 galant jdm. with the gears that i ned to match up to my rear end.
i bought it and i got a sweeeeeet deal on it.
but i dont want to rig it all up and blow the trans to pieces...
can anyone tell me for sure that a c50ph tranny switchable will work 100% in a 93 laser awd...the people at the jdm place say it will for sure...but im scared.

I put a jdm galant Transmission in my buddys 91 awd tsi, witch is the same as your laser, The only difference I have seen between the 2 is that the JDM transmission has a Longer 1st gear, its easier to shatter. Mabey some one else could fill you in more.

It should have the same final drive as your transmission, but since anything could've happened since that transmission left the factory, I'm not going to say that it will work for sure. There are a lot of different JDM transmissions, the switchable in most cases has the same final drive as the U.S. cars. You can always check it out when it arrives, and if it won't work, sell it. Somebody will buy it.

is there an easy way to test the gear ratios ...
the jdm tranny is on the garage floor...
my 93 awd laser is still runing...

i just got finished installing my jdm tranny and transfercase.....and i took it for a drive...slow...
it shifts mintttt....the tranny works good....and i dont hear and unusuall sounds....
but if they diff r out what will it sound like...??????????

ok, i need help now.
i took it out for a better drive and it seems to kinda notchy 2nd gear and in 3rd at 3000rpm the car vibrates bad sooo bad that my shifter in my hand vibrates to shit....only when i let off the gas....soo decelerating....
crusin not so bad....and accererating there is no vibration and no noises and it works mint....wtf?

does anyone have any experience with these stupid trannys?

i need some adivce...

mabye the diff ratios are out causeing this?
or if the ratios are out what does it sound like...what are the symptoms?

you should be able to find the final drive ratios on line. Do some research and then come back to us. On what you found. From what I know, i think if a car has two different drive ratios just one set of wheels are going gaster and the tranny or the diff have to work harder to keep up with the faster moving axles. At least I think it works something like that. Someone will shine in and help ya out.
