Salem,
last winter i had a mechanic i have been using(who is very knowledgable, and good)
do the 6 bolt swap in my 2g awd with a jdm motor i got from Soken Trade.
It came with the Cyclone manifold and Soken told me it had blue injectors...Except i never
saw it in person, just the pic they emailed me. I had it delivered straight to my
mechanics shop. I said i wanted to grab the turbo off it which i thought would
be either the 14b or 16g and sell it. He said the motor came off an automatic car
and it was a 13c turbo.....is this correct? According to RRE's Tech&Tips under
JDM engines: w/ blue injectors should atleast be a 14b, and also said the motors that came
with tiny turbo's didn't come with the cyclone manifold......is my mechanic telling
the truth?

Yes - you're correct. My "JDM" engine was an auto (no 6 bolt flywheel, just a flex plate :notgood: ), which came with the 13G turbo. I took it off and sold it, as I had a 14B. The japanese spec 4G63T's from my knowledge didn't come with smaller injectors or different cams with the automatic tranny versions. -only the us-spec engines had different injectors and cams.
Edit- mine also came with the cyclone intake mani.
I pretty much stripped the block and head, and swapped all bolt-ons from my original engine to the JDM one. The cylcone mani will take a bit of effort to get working properly.

I also purchased a JDM 6 Bolt.. It came with the Cyclone manifold... It had blue injectors and came with the 13G turbo and super tiny manifold.

When I pulled the turbo off oil came out the compressor and exhaust turbines which means it had a smoked turbo... (not that it mattered to me, because i was replacing it) however when i took the valve cover off and the oil pan to do BS elimination and clean it up it smelt like burnt oil. everything else looks very very clean, so i belive the burnt smell is just because of the blow turbo. anyway sorry back on subject...

blue injectors are 450cc injectors, but the 13G turbo very, very small... is off an automatic car. which sucks. but they figure most people are just going to pull it for something bigger anyway.... good luck with your swap... i need some luck with mine too.. the motor is finished, now just waiting on some new parts - TO4B V-Trim, etc etc :sneaky:

What do you mean by super tiny manifold? are you talking about the exhaust manifold? Has anyone found a way to make the cyclone manifold actually work? and would it work with a 2g throttle body, because I want to be able to hook all my emissions equipment back up.
