Hey guys a little help here! my mod list is pretty good (I think). i am putting on my 60 trim and my 1G BOV is leaking at 21 psi. don't know why but hey who cares it's time for a new BOV. Type RS or the Tial. Keep in mind my goal is low 11's. i have read that the Greddy Type RS doesn't hold past 500hp. if that is soo... then it wouldn't matter if that was Crank hp or AWHP. right or not?? j/w because i really like the look of the Type RS, but if i have to i will go with the Tial. :thumb:
Thanks for the Help!
James

As far as I know, all BOVs are rated by the pressure that they can hold without leaking, not by HP levels. If you plan on running 25psi or above, then the tial is definately the one to go for. If you think you will stay around 20psi, then shoot Greddy an e-mail and ask them how much pressure their RS valve will handle on a regular basis.

I have always been happy with the TurboXS series. I agree with Scrymerr, I don't like my Greddy much, but because of my Greddy FMIC and pipe, it's my only option.

The Tial is a great BOV but remember it cannot recirculate so be ready to switch to a blowthrough type setup.

about recirculating issues i have a 1g bov vented to atmosphere. my car for some reason ran really crappy in the begining, but once the engine was swapped out it runs perfect. and timing and fuel is right where it should be. to that is why i don't care about the recirculating issue. my main thing is and i know it sounds really retarded, is i want a good sound with the new BOV. the 1G vented is loud but i want a more distinct sound and a little louder. that is why i was looking at the Greddy. its stupid i know, but i was hoping the greddy could maybe hold like 28 psi for a few runs at the track

Well if you don't care about venting get the Tial. One of, if not the best BOV-Period.

Greddy RS will work plenty good for your application, they upgraded to stronger spring and 40mm diamter up from the type s. We have made well over 500whp on a type s w/o leaking.

i understand you had 500whp on a type s,but will it hold 27-30psi at the track? i don't want to lose psi when at the track. on the street i only run 21psi. this is my delemia. i want the sound of a greddy Type RS, but i don't want to replace it 2 or 3 months down the road with a tial b/c the greddy can't hold the psi

Yes I agree.. Also the HKS is nice it can't leak period. I think its rated to 25-30 psi depending on how you set up the screw.

Plus the Hks has such a wonderful sound... :p

Tial is best for performance... but I really just like the hks ssqv sound and performance is almost as good as the Tial

I have an HKS so I agree with you.

HKS just costs an arm and a leg as they dont come w/ a flange for the price. And the flanges are usually $25-30. Most places dont offer piping flanged for HKS w/o an additional charge for this reason.

so you're saying the Type RS is the way to go, or the Tial and Type RS are both equally as good for my application?

They are both equally good so it comes down to whichever is cheaper.

thanks guys for the info. i just don't want to waste money on somthing i don't need. i think i will go with the Type RS just for the sake that it's new and cool looking. if need be i will get a Tial later on down the road. DSMTUNERS.COM is awsome
