Why didn't you tap it before you put the kit on???
 
You still could have tapped the runner without having to disconnect everything. After you drill teh hole start the car and let it idle a few seconds. Since at idle speed you're not actually putting stress on the turbo the metal flakes will safely pass through the turbo and into your exhaust.
 
THEY tapped the downpipe instead of the runner.

I appologize, I typed that *I* tapped for the probe and I didnt, I meant to imply that it was the excuse they gave me.

when I get some time I'll weld the hole shut and tap it in its proper spot.
