It's my tranny, huh?

For the past month, whenever I shift into 2nd gear, it'll grind. The only way I could shift without it grinding would be to let the RPM drop to/or below 1,000 RPM. Just a few days ago, it wouldn't even go into GEAR!!! When I tried to shift into 2nd gear, it'll just grind, it wouldn't even get into gear. Before it could get into gear, but now it doesn't! I've tried letting the RPM drop before shifting into 2nd gear. I've tried shifting really slow and I've tried shifting into 2nd gear real hard. Nothin'.....It's my tranny, right?

it sounds like it is probably is the sycros but just in case i would check the shifter cables thats what i would try and if their fine its probly the sycros thats the problem i had in the past and i had to rebuiled it in the end it was the sycros in the tranny

. Dont you love the 2g tranny. Mine did that too, but then... i got some BG Syncroshift II and it shifts like butter. Thats what you should do. Oh and by the way... if you catch a BG representative doing his rounds you can talk him into giving it to you for free. All i had to do was put on a sticker... which i later pealed off.

If you're going to be rebuilding your tranny I would suggest going with shep www.sheptrans.com also if you haven't done so already I would put an ACT Clutch and Flywheel in there since you've got it pulled. Just my 2 cents.

I was thinking about swaping a Evo III motor and tranny into my car instead of rebuilding the tranny ### my friend could hook me up with motor and tranny for like $1,500. What do you guys think? Should I swap my tranny, or rebuild it?

What's this BG Syncroshift II you're talking about? And where would you run into the representative? If they would do it for free if I sport their sticker, I'll do it ### I gotta repaint the car anyways. I'll just leave the sticker on the car until I paint it. Lemme know more about that too, thanks!
