Well looks like I'm back... Some of you may know that my car had really smoking issues before. So I replaced the headgasket, did some minor machine work and new valve seals installed.

Then my car wouldn't start for a month so I did the 1G CAS swap..

Car has been running pretty good. Until a couple of days ago. Yes, I had gotten on it. Boosted and let out around 6800. Did another pull then went home. I got home to discover lots of smoke and a wonderful ticking noise from my engine.

I've just been driving it how it is, but now I've noticed it only smokes horridly whenever I downshift or decelerate. I am out of ideas, and am just completely fed up with this car. Oh yeah, and this has to happen like just a day or two AFTER I buy brand new tires and put new leather seats in.

I've pretty much lost any hope for this car and am about to cut my losses..

Do yourself a favor and get yourself an EVO III 16g.... and make sure it's an MHI one and not some ebay knockoff. If you look around you can get 'em for $550. Keep in mind that you'll also need to get the install kit as well... but you will need this same install kit even if you want to 'mildly' upgrade to the 14b. If you're really strapped for cash, I'd go with the 14b... your right in that, there's not a reason in the world to replace it with another T-25.

Not to jump in on your thread but mine was ticking the other day. Thought to myself -Lifter tick it will go away. 2 Days later still making noise so I pulled the valve cover to check things out and as I went to turn the cams I noticed that my exhaust cam pulley wiggled. The bolt was tight and it was shifting back and forth during rotation. Ruined the cam sprocket and the cam. I feel your pain.

if you have to much oil in the car it will not let it return to the pan from the turbo. and it will cause oil to seep into the exhaust try that

Well I did an Oil Change last night, and I poured a gallon in the car. But for some reason, it's reading past the "full" mark on the dipstick.

When I drove it today, it was smoking constantly. Wow thanks for letting me know that! I'll go drain a little bit of oil. I guess 4 quarts is a little too much on these cars?

Cheer up, ive had loads of problems..but these cars are so much fun to drive .. ditch the t25... get at least a e16g.. bigger turbos are so much fun..

Sure, ive spent tons of money on this car.. (havent we all?) but the results are amazing:) LOL

4g63 forever :rocks:

Someone local said they'd sell a ported and clipped 16g for $250. Might just go with that. I'll check the junkyards this weekend.

Took some oil out, car still smokes pretty bad, but not as bad it seems.

I still got a feeling it's not 100% my turbo..

Smoking issues can also be related to a bad PCV valve. I'd do a boost leak test if I was you.

Yeah I need to. I might pull the PCV valve off my old valve cover and put it on my new one. I slapped a 6bolt valve cover on my car cause they look so much better.
