'ISCposition' doesn't work while logging...?

Added ISCposition to my Captured Values while doing a stream, in an attempt to properly adjust my BISS...but the value turns grey, and doesn't show any real-time changes? It doesn't show anything? I was hoping to see a "30".....I may be overlooking something very simple, and I'm sorry if that is the case, but I'm lost.

It's definitely in captured values, but shows up greyed out....I put a multimeter on the contacts, they all showed variable resistance in the hundreds. I unplugged it...and it seems to run fine now, and not hesitating/almost dying every 15-20 seconds like before....going to try to contact the guy who rebuilt my throttle body recently and supposedly replaced my ISC/IAC as well

Yup, sounds like a dead one to me.

Just turn on "Simulate idle from throttle position" for now until you get a working ISC in there.

Simulate idle from TPS refers to simulating the closed throttle switch. It has nothing to do with the ISC. Also, the ISC is a stepper motor with no feedback so the number being logged is only what the ECU wants the ISC to be positioned to, not where it actually is. Readings in the hundreds across the coils does indicate a bad ISC, assuming you are measuring the right spots. Replace it.

As for the info no showing up in the log, post one up. The other possibility is that you have a bad ISC driver inside the ECU. Look here

Thank you for the feedback. I am trying to trace why it is randomly hesitating...and basically un-driveable at the moment. I still have a few minor minor boost leaks to fix. Here is a log with the ISCPosition sensor logged. I also will note that I did not take the ISC motor out when I probed it. I will do that though, it's just so hard to find the time to work on a DSM, with a full time job/life, and not have a garage yet.... *sigh*

...and, sadly, I don't even know if this log was done before or after: "I think I fixed my base timing". I didn't know where the , or if there even was, a timing mark on my crank pulley to check the timing. And not seeing one, I did the method with the cam gear marks....not sure if it's right though...the idle dropped when I did that...but I'm still idling high at the moment.

Have you done a thorough boost leak test at all? What readings did you get from the 4 coils on the IAC when you tested it? I would also check your throttle plate to ensure it's fully closed. You have a very large offset on your TPS value.

On top of what was mentioned above, I would upload all of these settings. Feel free to review what has been changed. Your choice on the DTC codes and what your stock boost gauge was set to (I switched it to voltage).

I'm not sure why the item is grayed out. You may want to try updating your v3 firmware. Also, you have a pretty large adjustment on you TPS, you may want to consider mechanically adjusting it and checking out your TB at the same time.

Well I fixed quite a few boost leaks, the only leak it has now is very very minor at the adjustment screw of the BOV. The throttle body has just been rebuilt, the ICS motor tested fine with the multimeter, as did the coil pack. I reset my fuel trims in DSMlink. I uploaded the settings offered above and they made it idle really erratic.....up, then down, then up, etc. at regular intervals from 500 to 1500 rpm, back and forth? I drove it a few miles tonight, and it seemed to mostly have its problems at idle, although there was noticeable, random, hesitation occasionally. Pulled in the driveway and it idled fine, perfect, for a few minutes, then started trying to die...temperature was 234. My cooling fan is not kicking on (won't even kick on through DSMlink), so this has caused it to get hot... I'm assuming a relay is bad, because the fan tested fine on a direct 12volt check. I still can't figure out this idle issue, any more suggestions are appreciated. I'm running out of ideas, or things to check. Here's a log from cold, to warmed up.

I just checked and made sure the throttle plate was closing all the way, and I'll check my TPS sensor as soon as I can.

Also, my oil reaks of gasoline, so I'm running crazy rich... I'll be changing it before I start it again.

i_nick_2005_i, I was wondering if you figured out why the option was grayed out? Was it dead or something else? I finally got everything I wanted to log set up and working perfect yesterday, and then today my ISCposition, LTFT, ThrottlePosition and LrnIdleAdj all went gray .

Hey guys I have link v3 and my isc position stays at around 60 to 61 and when I try to adjust my biss screw the rpms goes higher but the isc stays the same any ideas and what's going on?

Rix.

I could never get my isc down to 30. Its about 50 and works fine. DOes your car die when the ac turns on? If not, your isc number/biss setting is good in my book.
