2G Is this what leaky ECU capacitors look like?

The best way I can describe it is there is a white haze that goes from the capacitor over to the circuit board.

Yes. Those are what leaky capacitors look like.

With my EPROM ECU I found that it would provide false CEL's and also a coolant light.

I sent it out and the areas that you have pictured were cleaned and capacitors replaced and the ECU looked new and worked great.

Thats what I thought, My car would crank and crank today and eventually started but I didnt drive it.. but I did notice after I turned the key off my low coolant lamp as well as my alt. lamp were still on even with the key out.

Should be an easy fix if your ok with a soldering iron. A new ecu is probably best tho. If its an eprom ecu ild probably sell it on ebay and snag a new one.

The circuit board is damaged though, At least the car wont start with it installed.

I just traded my local DSM parts god my EPROM for a 97 GST ecu.

Here is why so many DSMers have a bad name. Fix your stuff dont just sell it to someone else so they have to deal with your trash.

I sent mine to Steve and was very pleased. He fixed quite a few issues and socketed it all for less than $200 if I remember correctly. He is very professional and easy to deal with. He even went out of his way to very thoroughly explain our ecu's to me.
