i have the mas out of the car right now searching for what i believe to be a boost leak. i want to crank to the engine to see if i can change the position of the valves because it sounds like right now it is leaking from the top of the head. if i crank the car without the mas, will it hurt anything? thanks!

You should be fine.

I've DRIVEN my car HARD without my MAF hooked up before (for a short time).

Then when my dumbass realized I didn't hook up the MAF, I wanted to hit myself in the face with my ratchet, but that's another story.

as far as i know it might set a cel but the when the ecu notices that it is not there is should go into sort of a safe mode and make up its own idea of how much air is flowing. There are preprogramed ammounts in case there is ever a problem.
