Is this intercooler big enough for my turbo?

I posted on the intercooler I got screwed over on dsmtrader about a week ago.. but basically it is a star core, the core measuring 22 wide by 6 1/4 high by 2 1/4 deep, the outlets are 2" and the piping is mandrel bent 2". Payed $330 for it... (its used) I've got a big 16g setup right now and this is the last major component I need to have my turbo running efficiently.

While I am tempted to claim a file with paypal (he said it is 9" high, 3" deep) I am wondering if this intercooler will be sufficient enough for my turbo. Will I be missing out on much with a larger intercooler? (keep in mind, I'm not buying an 850$ setup)

I am pushing 20psi and am definately considering moving to a larger turbo down the road, 20g or 50 trim most likely. Will this intercooler core handle these turbos?

my last concern is I want my fmic to "fill up" the front bumper of a 97-99 eclipse mouth, un-chopped.

Thank you.

A buddy of mine with a 2nd gen in Indy runs a modified star/quest core- had the inlet/outlet enlarged to 2.25 and rerouted - he's running a 14B with a Dejon Blowthru setup, 3" maf, 680cc injectors, 3/S pump, 3" downpipe, dumped 3" catback - I think he said he's expecting 110 traps next outing to the track... feeling that core after mid-summer runs should help explain it's usefulness. At 17psi on stock fuel- he'd be coming back thru the return lane, and if you felt the IC- the "hot"side of the tank was pretty warm. The cool side was actually COOL to the touch - now I'm sure when he upgrades he'll find the limits- but the starquest actually does extremely well to the point he's at.

At the BIG16G level, that's a big jump up in airflow- I'd be more worried about flow thru the core than the eff.

Still, try it out- just don't hard weld the pipes or anything- if it works, you're done, if not- you can resell it for what it is - a great upgrade for someone running a 14B :)
EDIT- his car is a 98 GS-T and it fills the front well - you can see the endtanks, but that's it- no ugly piping gaps

wow, thats alot of money for a star/quest core. There is a guy on ebay right now selling intercoolers with spearco cores, 2.5" end tanks for $249 buy it now.
