Hey guys. Me again : P

I have a question, I am using a 16g at 18lbs. I am wondering if my intercooler is big enough, I believe I am almost positive I have a boost leak anyways, so I am thinking of just replacing all the piping and such, as the couplers that are on it seem pretty shit.

Heres a pic of my cooler I have now, it seems a little small to me, but just wanted to check with you guys.

If it is small, anyone know a decent priced replacement with some nice looking piping? I have a greddy bov also. If that helps picking the right piping.

Thanks!
Dan

That intercooler can handle 18psi, its better than the stock SMIC. If your looking for a BIG cheap intercooler, go with SSAC kit. I just installed mine last week. I got everything for $338 shipped to my door. cam with couplers and t bolt clamps.

Check out my avatar picture.:thumb:

It is not so much that i want a BIG intercooler as it is I want one that will do the job and stop blowing couplers and leaking. : \

To he honest, I dont know, they sure look beat though. One looks like it has tape around it, hah!

Just got the car 2 nights ago D :

vampire bugs??? unless your talking about mosquitos then I don't think we have those in Arkansas LOL but sorry for getting off topic...anyways your IC should be fine as is just make sure you check your clamps and couplers and get better ones if need be.

Hah, yeah, I am talking about mosquitoes. Is there any kinda local stores that would have couplers and clamps? Such as advanced auto or anything?

I would suggest getting the t bolt clamps from ebay and getting some silicone couplers from o'reilly auto(the sell it by the foot). If you go to an auto parts store for the clamps it will plrobably cost you alot because they sell t bolt clamps individually.(At least they do over here)

I got scared there for a second. Saw near 100$ each D : ! ! hah.

If i remember correctly the clamps on it are your standard hose clamps with the lines on them that the screw uses to tighten.

Napa has them. At first, they didn't know what I was talking about when I said "T-bolt clamps" but, after they looked them up in a catalog, they knew.

The ssac kit he was was talkin about is a great kit man. I have it on my 2g and I've not had any problems with it and my 18g after I had it fitted. Short route pipeing is the best way to go so you have less couplers that will coz leaks over time. Not to mention its pretty cheap kit, I got mine for 310 shipped. All the pipeing is flanged also. But that FMIC that you have should easily be sufficient enough for your 16g.
