i am wonderin if my boost gauge is hooked up right. its an autometer ultra light carbon fiber series. When on full boost it reads about 15 psi but my car shouldnt even be boosting that high because i dont have a boost controller. They guy that had the car before me installed the gauge and the line that goes to the gauge is tee'd off the line that goes from the intake manifold to the bov. Is this giving me inaccurate readings from that line?
Here are my other mods incase you need to know for the high boost issue-
Injen intake
apexi uicp with apexi dual chamber bov (not recirculated)
buschur racing 2.5 downpipe with 2.5 test pipe
hks hi power 3 in cat back
thats all the stuff i can think of that would affect anything

please let me know what you think
thanks

Sounds about right to me. I bought and installed my manual boost controller and boost gauge for my 1G on the same day. Unfortunately I was so excited I wasn't thinking very clearly and installed the boost controller before installing the gauge. So I never had a chance to see how much "stock" boost I was making with just the free modifications and no MBC. I found it rather strange that I couldn't adjust my boost any lower than about 13 lbs. About an hour later it finally dawned on me what the issure was.

So a 2G with free mods... 15 sounds about right to me.

ok i thought i read some where that the stock boost on these was suppose to be 12 psi but maybe that was for a 1g.
thanks

15psi is the stock, from the factory, boost level for the 2g's....thats with no mods, free or not, your right where you should be...

No...........

2g's boost 10-12 psi stock... Stock 1g's are a little lower hence why 1g's were rated at 195 hp and 2g's at 210hp but thats a different story

2g and 1g stock boost gauges are so inacurate you can never believe what they say.

save yourself and get a boost gauge first... or your engine just might go boom if you have a mbc and its not set properly

2g's are NOT 10-12. it comes from the factory set at 15psi, the stock BOV/pipes start leaking around 9psi, so your guage might read anywhere from 10-15psi, but 15 is the stock setting, if you are reading 10-12 it's normal, but as soon as you change out your BOV it will sit right at 15psi, granted you don't do any other modifications.
