This was given to me today for free, so I would like to use it after a proper resurfacing of course. My concern is the crack on the mating surface. It doesn't appear to be deep, and theres a fair bit of meat left. What do you think? Salvageable, or junk? FWIW, this is going on a low power FWD not a high power AWD.
Thanks.

The only way to tell is to send it to the machine shop and have them check/resurface it. it looks pretty deep to me. Is it just the one crack like that or is it all cracked? normally you get small cracks all over the friction surface.

I'm paranoid, so I wouldn't use it. I wouldn't want to have to drop the transmission again for something like that.

OK, this FW is junk.... Another member on my local board has offered me another one for free.
Thanks guys.
