Is this ECU repairable?

I would like to know if this is repairable.

I will have to go with a no on that, it looks like the caps burned up. I would start shopping around for another ECU man, just to be safe about it.

You won't be using that one ever again. That is definetly fried, maybe a complete rebuild, but that will cost you more than a use unit.

If the car still runs with it like that then i dont see why it cant be repaired. My ecu looks worse and it still runs. My cap is burnt and two of the solenoid drivers are partially melted.

Well if you get the caps, someone locally (electronics repair shop that does soldering) would do it for $30-$40. The also clean it off a bit.

You won't know until after you try, but like he asked: does it run now? If so, good chance it would be OK.

Otherwise those sell for about $150 used.

you guys are crazy, my caps went, and the car still worked, it would just stop working every once and a while, then die at the worst time possible.... the caps are probably not the only thing thats damaged, i replaced my caps and same thing happened,.... i still have my ecu, one of the caps leaked a little bit of acid and it got on one small drive thingy, and after i cleaned it with an exacto knife and q tips, still had the same problem, it would run, just die randomly... every second your flipping a coin.... if the drives look like no damage has been done to them your fine, but my guess is more than just one drive was affected by your caps.... so your looking at a new ecu,....

although you should ask steve (steve) to be sure, he told me i could send my ecu to him and he would fix it for a maximum charge of 150 bucks, if it was repairable... (aka he would do whatever it takes for 150, and if it costs less than that, he will charge less than that... but if it costs more hell only charge 150...or at least i think, ask him) but my parents were sick and tired of this and its "their car" so now i owe them $2000 because "their car" broke... aka they will not be seeing "their car" ever again after i leave for college, unless they visit "their car" at "my place"
